Day 2 of week 2
Dec. 8th, 2010 09:45 pmToday was nothing short of absolutely perfect. The Little Man was an angel the entire time, mostly do to the amount of non-sour milk I was feeding him. He either slept, or sat in my lap and watched Castle with me all day and it was all unicorns and rainbows.
But, my wife just couldn't leave the situation alone. Oh no, she had to come along and up the ante. Sometime around 7:30 she texted me asking if I was hungry. I replied that I was, figuring she'd pick something up on her way home around 8:30. She didn't respond, so I quickly forgot about the conversation ever having happened. About 10 minutes later, out of absolutely nowhere, the doorbell rings. Now in my defense, I had just been watching Castle all day, so the first conclusion my media addled brain jumps to is that there is someone at my door who wants to murder me and my son and take all the valuables in the house. Really, the poor guy just wanted me to sign the receipt for the pizza and the soda that my wonderful wife had ordered online from work and had sent to our house. It's her capacity to surprise me still after four years together that... well it gets lost in the millions of other things that I love about her, but if it were only that, it'd be enough.
So if all the days could be like this, that'd just be peachy. And even though they aren't I'm still the luckiest guy alive.
